As a manufacturer of Animal Feed Additives you will be aware that your product must be authorised in accordance with the provisions of the EU Regulation (Regulation 1831/2003) and that you have to submit a dossier to the European Commission for your product. This dossier should contain data and studies which demonstrate the efficacy and safety of the product for animals, consumers and the environment.
David Byrne, the Commissioner responsible for Health and Consumer Protection, said “The strengthening of the rules on the safety of animal feed was one of the cornerstones of the EU’s integrated approach to the food chain in recent years. To maintain consumer confidence, we must now ensure that these rules are strictly applied.”
