Toxicity Profile for Allyl butyrate (1992)
Abstract
Allyl butyrate has produced an irritant response on both human and rabbit skin. An attempt to induce skin sensitization in volunteers treated with the dilute material was unsuccessful. Allyl butyrate was of moderate acute oral and dermal toxicity in the rat and rabbit respectively. Repeated oral administration produced liver damage and lung effects in rats.
