Toxicity Profile for 2-Methyl-1-butanol (1994)
Abstract
2-Methyl-1-butanol showed a low acute toxic potential in rats treated orally and in rabbits treated dermally. It produced severe eye damage in the rabbit, but did not cause significant skin irritation. A possible case of skin sensitization has been reported in one individual. 2-Methyl-1-butanol affected rat liver and gullet enzyme systems and increased cell replication in the gullet.

What are Toxicity Profiles?
Toxicity Profiles are comprehensive, yet concise, monographs on the hazard potential of individual chemicals.
They are written by scientists specially trained in the evaluation of toxicity data and are prepared principally from primary information sources.
