Toxicity Profile for Vinyltrimethoxysilane (1996)

Abstract

Undiluted vinyltrimethoxysilane may be a skin irritant in man. It was irritating to the eyes and skin of rabbits. The vapour irritated the eyes and nose of rats. Acute studies revealed a low toxic potential in rats treated orally and in rabbits treated dermally. A single exposure given orally or by inhalation affected the central nervous system and kidneys of rats. Repeated inhalation resulted in kidney damage in rats.

What are Toxicity Profiles?

Toxicity Profiles are comprehensive, yet concise, monographs on the hazard potential of individual chemicals. They are written by scientists specially trained in the evaluation of toxicity data and are prepared principally from primary information sources.
