Diethylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether acetate (1989)AbstractDiethylene glycol mono-n-butyl acetate (DGBEA) irritated the skin and eyes of rabbits, and was of low acute oral and dermal toxicity in laboratory animals. Severe kidney damage occurred in a child following repeated dermal application of an insect repellent containing 50% DGBEA. Repeated skin application of DGBEA produced kidney damage and destruction of red blood cells in rabbits. Toxicity Profiles are comprehensive, yet concise, monographs on the hazard potential of individual chemicals. They are written by scientists specially trained in the evaluation of toxicity data and are prepared principally from primary information sources.
