Dibenzyl disulphide (1997)
Abstract
Dibenzyl disulphide was an irritant to the rabbit eye and skin, and a sensitizer in guinea-pigs. It was of low acute oral toxicity to rats. In limited skin studies in mice, no tumours developed following dibenzyl disulphide application, although it enhanced the activity of a known skin carcinogen. No mutagenic activity was displayed in a bacterial Ames test.
