Toxicity Profile for Pigment Yellow 74 (1998)

Abstract

Pigment Yellow 74 was of low acute oral toxicity in rats, and did not appear to be of high acute dermal toxicity in rabbits. Rabbit studies revealed no potential to cause skin or eye irritation. The pigment did not give any indication of mutagenic activity in either the Ames bacterial test or in mouse cells in culture.
