Pigment Yellow 74 (1998)AbstractPigment Yellow 74 was of low acute oral toxicity in rats, and did not appear to be of high acute dermal toxicity in rabbits. Rabbit studies revealed no potential to cause skin or eye irritation. The pigment did not give any indication of mutagenic activity in either the Ames bacterial test or in mouse cells in culture. Toxicity Profiles are comprehensive, yet concise, monographs on the hazard potential of individual chemicals. They are written by scientists specially trained in the evaluation of toxicity data and are prepared principally from primary information sources.
