Ammonium thiosulphate (1990)AbstractAmmonium thiosulphate was generally of low acute oral toxicity to rodents but rats exhibited tissue damage in a wide variety of organs. Effects seen in rats on single or repeated oral and inhalation exposures have included changes in cardiovascular and nervous system activity, a decrease in the number of red blood cells, and liver injury. No skin irritation has been reported from repeated application of relatively high concentrations to humans or rats. Toxicity Profiles are comprehensive, yet concise, monographs on the hazard potential of individual chemicals. They are written by scientists specially trained in the evaluation of toxicity data and are prepared principally from primary information sources.
