Toxicity Profile for alpha-, beta- and gamma-Cyclodextrins (1986)
Abstract
The alpha- and beta-cyclodextrins produced kidney damage in rats and rabbits when administered by injection. They are poorly absorbed in their intact form from the gastro-intestinal tract and their oral toxicity is low. Orally administered beta-cyclodextrin gave no evidence of reproductive toxicity or genotoxicity in rats.

What are Toxicity Profiles?
Toxicity Profiles are comprehensive, yet concise, monographs on the hazard potential of individual chemicals.
They are written by scientists specially trained in the evaluation of toxicity data and are prepared principally from primary information sources.
