Abstract
D-Pantolactone was of moderate acute toxicity in mice treated by intraperitoneal injection. Mice suffered muscle convulsions following injection of pantoyl lactone. No evidence of mutagenic activity was observed in a bacterial (Escherichia coli) assay.
