Toxicity Profile for 4,4'-Diaminostilbene (1995)

Abstract

4,4'-Diaminostilbene induced liver tumours in rats following repeated subcutaneous injection. It was mutagenic in an Ames bacterial assay and induced chromosome damage in mice treated by single intraperitoneal injection. Complaints of sexual impotence have been made by men involved in its manufacture.
