Toxicity Profile for Di-tert-butyl peroxide (1990)

Abstract

Di-tert-butyl peroxide was not irritant to the skin of rabbits and only slightly irritant to their eyes. Acute oral and inhalation toxicity in rodents was low. Single inhalation exposures caused central nervous system effects. There was no clear evidence of genotoxic activity in a range of microbial tests including the Ames bacterial assay.

What are Toxicity Profiles?

Toxicity Profiles are comprehensive, yet concise, monographs on the hazard potential of individual chemicals. They are written by scientists specially trained in the evaluation of toxicity data and are prepared principally from primary information sources.
