Tracy Laughland
Senior Toxicologist
Tracy studied Biochemistry at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh before joining BIBRA (as it then was) in 1988, working in the Information Department. In 1997, she moved back to Edinburgh and helped her brother start up a new business in the party field. She returned to the world of toxicology in 2004, joining bibra on a part-time basis, while still involved with her brother. She became a more full-time member of the team towards the end of 2006. Her work has involved all aspects of chemical toxicology assessment including reviewing and critically evaluating toxicological data on a wide range of chemicals and carrying out hazard and risk assessments for industrial companies and government. She has extensive experience in searching for toxicological literature, as well as scanning the pre-published and published literature for regular alerts to specific chemicals.
Tracy’s interests are golf, which she plays to a very high standard, rugby (spectating, not playing), gardening, walking, and visiting historical sites and art galleries.
