In an attempt to improve risk assessment strategies for pesticides (which evidently do not take sufficient account of cumulative and aggregate pesticide exposures), an EU-funded project was set up in June 2010, with the rather fetching name of ACROPOLIS (the Aggregate and Cumulative Risk of Pesticides: an On-Line Integrated Strategy). The three-year project will draw together experts from all over Europe, and will make use of existing risk characterisation and exposure models (covering various routes of exposure) to develop an integrated model for pesticide risk assessment. For more information, visit the ACROPOLIS website at http://www.acropolis-eu.com/ or the CORDIS (Community Research and Development Information Service) website at http://cordis.europa.eu/fetch?CALLER=FP7_PROJ_EN&ACTION=D&DOC=62&CAT=PROJ&QUERY=012ae71c9752:287d:5c1826dd&RCN=94836 (for project details under the Seventh Framework Programme). {187280}
