Public release summaries have been issued on two new active agents, derquantel (in an oral drench for sheep) and flonicamid (in an insecticide). For derquantel, oral toxicity studies in dogs were used to set an acceptable daily intake (ADI) of 0.5 µg/kg bw (based on a 90-day study) and an acute reference dose (ARfD) of 10 µg/kg bw (based on an acute study). For flonicamid, the ADI and ARfD were both established at 25 µg/kg bw based on a developmental toxicity study in rabbits.
