Di-n-octyltin bis(isooctylthioglycolate) (DOTG) was mildly irritant to rabbit skin. A moderate to low acute toxicity in rats was demonstrated by the oral and dermal routes. It may have a potential to cause foetal effects when fed to pregnant dams of various species. Evidence of mutagenicity was seen in Ames bacterial tests. The immunotoxicity of this compound has not apparently been investigated.
