Undiluted vinyl trimethoxysilane may be a skin irritant in man. It was irritating to the eyes and skin of rabbits. The vapour irritated the eyes and nose of rats. Acute studies revealed a low toxic potential in rats treated orally and in rabbits treated dermally. A single exposure given orally or by inhalation affected the central nervous system and kidneys of rats. Repeated inhalation resulted in kidney damage in rats.
