The use of pyrethrins and the pyrethroids has increased in the US during the past decade with the declining use of organophosphate pesticides. To help understand the possible risks to human health from exposure to pyrethrins and pyrethroids (which are considered to have a common mode of action), the EPA has recently completed a cumulative risk assessment covering over 30 of these pesticides. The Agency has concluded that exposure from the many current uses of pyrethrins and pyrethoid insecticides does not pose a cumulative risk of concern for children or adults.
