The US EPA has recently released a major update (the first for 40 years) to the TSCA Inventory, a list of chemicals that are actively being manufactured, processed and/or imported in the United States. A focus of the EPA has been to identify which chemicals on the TSCA Inventory are no longer in commerce. The updated list lets the Agency prioritise risk evaluations on currently marketed chemicals. The identities of more than 80% of the chemicals in commerce are not protected by confidentiality claims, which will allow increased public access to additional information on them.
