Health Canada has re-examined the toxicity of glyphosate, stating that its use as a herbicide is not expected to pose a risk to human health or the environment. Regarding the hotly debated topic of its carcinogenicity (e.g. see our April issue of Toxicology and Regulatory News for the European Chemical Agency’s recent opinion), Health Canada concluded that “glyphosate is not genotoxic and is unlikely to pose a human cancer risk”.
