RSB/BTS and European Registered Toxicologist

Richard has more than 13 years’ experience in desk-based toxicology at bibra. He has an MSc in Applied Toxicology and is a RSB/BTS and European Registered Toxicologist (ERT). His skills include expert analysis of human health data and the pragmatic application of risk assessment methodology to mammalian toxicity data sets in order to derive robust conclusions on toxicological acceptability and health risks to exposed populations.

Richard has worked for clients from the food and beverage, food contact materials, consumer goods (including cosmetics), agrochemical, biocidal, industrial chemical (notably REACH), pharmaceutical and (most recently) electronic cigarette sectors. For the past 8 years, he has been heavily involved in assisting companies comply with their REACH registration obligations. Including in-depth data-gap analysis (DGA) and Intelligent Testing strategies (ITS), IUCLID inputting and peer-review, generation of DNELs/PNEC, PBT/vPvB assessments, classification and labeling and CSR production/review. During this time, he has also project-led a large number of successful REACH registrations for the 2010 and 2013 deadlines. Richard is currently tasked with managing the REACH registrations of about 100 substances for the 2018 deadline. He has also played a key role in assisting e-cigarette and e-liquid manufacturers and importers with their TPD2 compliance obligations.

In his spare time Richard can be found on the badminton court, playing golf, and running around after his two small children.
