A report submitted to EFSA presents the available scientific data relating to the dietary intake of vitamin D and its impact on systemic vitamin D status (as shown by levels of 25-hydroxy-vitamin D in the blood). The results of several epidemiological studies on people ingesting vitamin D are summarised. The aim is to aid EFSA in deriving suitable dietary reference values (DRVs) for vitamin D in the general population.
