N,N'-Methylenebisacrylamide (1993)AbstractN,N’-Methylenebisacrylamide (MBA) has caused eye, lung and gastrointestinal irritation in laboratory animals, and allergic contact dermatitis in workers. MBA was of moderate acute oral toxicity in rodents and produced non-specific effects on the nervous system, breathing difficulties, lung damage and bleeding from the eyes and nose. Anaemia and other effects on the blood were seen in rodents given repeated oral doses of MBA. Subtle effects on the nervous system were reported in rats treated by intraperitoneal injection. Toxicity Profiles are comprehensive, yet concise, monographs on the hazard potential of individual chemicals. They are written by scientists specially trained in the evaluation of toxicity data and are prepared principally from primary information sources.
