Tripropylene glycol diacrylate (1991)AbstractTripropylene glycol diacrylate (TPGDA) was an irritant to the skin of rabbits. It has demonstrated a moderate to strong sensitizing potential in guinea pigs and one case of sensitization has been reported in man. Cross-reactions with other acrylates may occur. It was of low acute oral and dermal toxicity in rats and rabbits respectively. Central nervous system effects were apparent in rabbits following repeated dermal applications. Some evidence of mutagenic activity was seen in mammalian cells in culture but an Ames bacterial test apparently showed no evidence of mutagenicity. Toxicity Profiles are comprehensive, yet concise, monographs on the hazard potential of individual chemicals. They are written by scientists specially trained in the evaluation of toxicity data and are prepared principally from primary information sources.
