Philip joined BIBRA (as it then was) in 1987 with a degree in biochemistry from Edinburgh University and an MSc in Information Science. He has over 30 years’ experience of identifying and critically evaluating toxicological data on a wide range of chemicals. He also has extensive experience in project management.
Phil has worked for clients from the food and beverage, food contact materials, consumer goods (including cosmetics), agrochemical, biocidal, industrial chemical (notably REACH) and pharmaceutical sectors. He has been heavily involved in assisting companies comply with their REACH registration obligations, including in-depth data-gap analysis (DGA) and Intelligent Testing strategies (ITS), IUCLID inputting and peer-review, generation of DNELs/PNEC, PBT/vPvB assessments, classification and labelling and CSR production/review. He has also acted as a Temporary Adviser to the World Health Organisation (WHO) in their ICSC (International Chemical Safety Cards) and CICADs programmes.
Philip now works part-time for bibra – he is also an accomplished artist (exhibiting and selling work in a number of UK galleries) and is a trained yoga teacher (running retreats in the UK and India); his time is much in demand!
