A DECOS draft report summarises the carcinogenic and genotoxic effects of diglycidylresorcinol ether. The Committee concludes that the compound induces tumours in rodents treated orally, probably via a genotoxic mechanism, hence it recommends classifying diglycidylresorcinol ether in category 1B for carcinogenicity (presumed to be carcinogenic to man) and in category 2 for mutagenicity (substances that may induce heritable mutations in the germ cells of humans).
