l,3,5-Tri(acryloyl)hexahydro-s-triazine (TAHT) was a severe skin and eye irritant in the rabbit. It was of moderate to high acute dermal toxicity in rabbits, and of moderate acute oral toxicity in rats. Target organs included the liver, spleen and kidney after skin application and the gastrointestinal tract and adrenal gland after oral administration. A skin sensitization potential was exhibited in guinea-pigs. Chromosomal damage was induced in mice treated by intraperitoneal injection and in mammalian cells in culture, whilst in other assays using mammalian cells there was no evidence of mutagenic activity or DNA damage.
