3,5-Dimethyl pyrazole has been described as a skin and eye irritant although the basis for this has not been identified. It affected blood and liver biochemistry in rats when administered by the oral and intraperitoneal routes. Changes in the level of brain neurotransmitters were reported in mice given single intraperitoneal injections, and clinical signs of central nervous system toxicity were observed at high doses. 3,5-Dimethyl pyrazole does not appear to have been tested for reproductive toxicity or carcinogenicity.
