Allyl cyclohexylacetate was irritant to human and rabbit skin. An attempt to induce skin sensitization was unsuccessful in volunteers treated with low concentrations. It was of moderate acute toxicity in rats treated orally and in rabbits treated dermally. Allyl cyclohexylacetate gave no evidence of activity in a range of genotoxicity screening assays. Several allyl esters have been shown to be hydrolysed to allyl alcohol, a known liver toxin.
