Ammonium phosphatides were of low acute toxicity when given orally or by injection to various species of laboratory animal. No adverse effects on fertility or foetal development were seen in dietary studies in rats. Long-term feeding to rats had effects on the parathyroid and heart but there was no evidence of carcinogenicity in rats and mice.
