Di-n-octyltin bis(2-ethylhexylthioglycolate) was of moderate to low acute toxicity in rodents by the oral route, the liver being the main target organ. Repeated oral administration to rats produced toxicity to the gut and thymus. Oral administration throughout pregnancy caused embryo- and foeto-toxicity in rats but there was no evidence of malformations. The immunotoxicity of this compound has not been investigated in detail, and no data were available on its genotoxic potential.
