Di-tert-butyl hydroquinone has caused skin sensitization in man and was a skin irritant in rabbits and guinea-pigs. Effects of repeated oral administration to rats included liver changes and haemorrhage of the lungs and bladder. Deaths occurred in rodents treated orally.
