Ethylene glycol dimethacrylate causes skin sensitization reactions in man, confirming the sensitizing potential seen in guinea-pigs. A low acute toxicity by the oral and intraperitoneal routes was reported in rodents. Slight lung effects were seen in very limited studies involving repeated inhalation in rats. Mutagenicity was seen in mammalian cells in culture but not in Ames bacterial tests.
