Linalyl anthranilate did not induce skin sensitization or cause irritation when applied, diluted, to the skin of volunteers. The neat material was not irritant to intact or abraded rabbit skin. Acute oral toxicity in rats treated orally and in rabbits treated dermally was low. It was judged to be non-mutagenic in an Ames bacterial test.
