para–tert-Butylbenzaldehyde (PTBB) was of moderate acute oral toxicity to rats and mice. Repeated oral exposure damaged the testes of rats and decreased sperm production. PTBB was a skin irritant in guinea-pigs. Repeated skin applications of a dilute solution did not induce sensitization in volunteers although guinea-pigs treated repeatedly by injection were sensitized.
