A recent IARC monograph assesses the carcinogenicity of the following chemicals:

  • 2-amino-4-chlorophenol
  • 2-chloronitrobenzene
  • 4-chloronitrobenzene
  • 1,4-dichloro-2-nitrobenzene
  • 2,4-dichloro-1-nitrobenzene
  • para-nitroanisole
  • N,N-dimethylacetamide
  • ortho-phenylenediamine and its dihydrochloride salt

All nine chemicals were classified as “possibly carcinogenic to humans” (Group 2B) based on sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity in laboratory animals and a lack of data or inadequate evidence in humans.
