…IUCLID 6 now available

The latest version of IUCLID is now available for download, along with updated manuals and plug-ins. IUCLID 6 accommodates new updates to the REACH Regulation and to relevant test guidelines made available since IUCLID 5. Companies planning to submit dossiers before the REACH-IT system is updated on 21 June should continue using IUCLID 5, but the new version of REACH-IT will only accept dossiers created using IUCLID 6. ECHA also plans to produce a webinar offering advice on the transition from IUCLID 5 to IUCLID 6 in due course.

…Chesar update now planned for July

The release of Chesar 3 was initially planned for 29 April, but to ensure stability and compatibility with IUCLID 6, ECHA has delayed its release until 21 June. A webinar on Chesar 3 will be available on the same day.

…Annex III database for low tonnage substances

It is possible to register substances manufactured or imported between 1‑10 tonnes/year using a reduced set of information (covering only physicochemical properties, and other existing data) if Annex III criteria do not apply, i.e. if:

  1. there is no indication that the substance is carcinogenic, mutagenic, or toxic to reproduction (CMR), persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT), or very persistent and very bioaccumulative (vPvB), or
  2. there is no indication that a substance with dispersive or diffuse uses would be classified as hazardous for human health and/or as an environmental hazard under the CLP Regulation

ECHA has produced an inventory of substances likely to fulfil Annex III criteria (and would need the full set of information defined in Annex VII, including physicochemical, toxicological and ecotoxicological information, for registration).
