Two new test guidelines (TGs) have been adopted by the OECD:

  • TG 494: Vitrigel-eye irritancy test method for identifying chemicals not requiring classification and labelling for eye irritation or serious eye damage
  • TG 495: Reactive oxygen species (ROS) assay for photoreactivity.

In addition, the following TGs have recently been updated:

  • TG 431: In vitro skin corrosion assay using reconstructed human epidermis
  • TG 432: In vitro 3T3 Neutral Red Uptake phototoxicity test
  • TG 439: In vitro skin irritation assay using reconstructed human epidermis
  • TG 442C: In vitro skin sensitisation assay, covalent binding to protein
  • TG 492: In vitro eye irritation assay using reconstructed human eye corneal epithelium.
