Preparation of hazard and risk assessments on a number of ingredients in oral healthcare products
Home » Portfolio Items » Preparation of hazard and risk assessments on a number of ingredients in oral healthcare products
Client
A major multinational provider of oral healthcare products.
Background
Bibra scientists were asked to assess the health risks to consumers associated with exposures to various ingredients in a range of oral healthcare products.
Project Goals
Review the available toxicological data on relevant chemicals, and conduct risk assessments for consumer health.
Approach
Bibra searched and reviewed the available literature to create hazard reviews on the relevant chemicals, often focusing on Expert Group evaluations, where available. In most cases, it was considered that the consumer could be exposed orally, via the skin, or by inhalation. Bibra estimated relevant worst-case exposures (involving both acute and repeated dose scenarios) and provided a conclusion on the likely consumer health risks.
Project Outcome
Bibra provided the client with a number of critical hazard and risk assessments, providing independent reassurance over the safety of their products.
