The four phthalates benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP), bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) were previously identified as substances of very high concern (SVHCs) due to their classification for reproductive toxicity and were subsequently included in the Authorisation List (Annex XIV). These substances have since been additionally identified as potential endocrine disruptors and ECHA has drafted a recommendation for amendment of the Authorisation List, meaning that some uses which until now have been exempted may require authorisation. Comments on the latest list of substances (below) are welcomed by 12 March 2019.
