The OECD has revised its draft guideline on the fluorescein leakage test method for the identification of ocular corrosives and severe irritants. This in vitro test method is recommended as part of a tiered testing strategy for regulatory classification and labelling (and not as a complete replacement for the in vivo rabbit eye test).
