The seventh revision of the United Nation’s Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) has been published. GHS provides international guidance on the classification of chemicals according to physical, chemical and toxicological properties, and on the harmonised communication of the associated hazards (e.g. through labels and safety data sheets). The latest edition contains various new or revised criteria, including (but not limited to) clarifications on the definitions of some health hazard classes, revised precautionary statements, and amended criteria for categorisation of flammable gases.
