Administrative Assistant

About this role and specific duties

We are seeking to recruit someone to join the admin department in our growing and busy Surrey-based team. The following list of generic tasks may not be indicative of immediate work, but provide a flavour of the eventual key roles.

  • Data entry to our in-house database, TRACE (and eventually to ‘manage’ the entire system) – this will come from a variety of places, including Word and Excel
  • Document format and reference checking (including our monthly publication, TRN)
  • Writing agendas and minutes
  • Purchasing scientific papers
  • Setting up folder structures on our system
  • General admin for the team
  • Keeping the stationery and kitchen stocked
  • Order and prepare lunches (fortnightly) and help with client visits

Candidate “must-haves”

  • Proven Microsoft Word and Excel skills – at least an intermediate level
  • Excellent writing and communication skill, with meticulous attention to detail and a passion for producing high quality work
  • Ideally at least a five year history in a related role (but all candidates will be considered)
  • Dedication, have a strong “team player” attitude
  • Have a logical and independent mind, and a pro-active attitude
  • Ability to multitask, display flexibility and a willingness to help
