A little more info

Our local community

  • Wherever possible we buy from, and use, local trade (IT support, solicitors, locksmiths, food etc)
  • We endeavour to welcome into our offices for a day, exceptional A-Level and University students who show an interest in toxicology and are considering it as their university subject choice and career
  • We are proud to support local charities (see below for more info)

Our office

  • We pride ourselves on having a fantastic internal training programme – from graduates to Principal Toxicologists, everyone participates, learns and leads group discussions. We attend the most appropriate and useful conferences and seminars all around the world (find out where we are next!) and bring the knowledge back to the rest of the group
  • Our knowledge pool has been growing for over 50 years - we have a great mix of chemists and biologists, all with different backgrounds who work side-by-side in the same office every day

We’re green!

  • 40% of our team cycle to and from work every day
  • Our letterhead paper, compliment slips and business cards are all printed on recycled paper – plus we buy recycled printer paper, and we make sure to keep a scrap pile in each office to reuse for non-confidential printing
  • All surplus confidential papers are shredded and then recycled
  • We try to be as energy efficient in the office as possible – switching off plugs at the sockets, and installing sensor lights and switches

Our charity work

  • As a company, we collect Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers and donate them to Shooting Star Chase, a children’s hospice charity in Guildford, who support families across London, Surrey and Sussex (including several families close to our office!). In lieu of Christmas cards last year, we chose to send an email to our clients and friends, and donate the money we would have spent on cards, to Shooting Star Chase
  • One of our Principal Toxicologists, Tanya Diver, recently took on a 50k walk (and bake sale, too!) in aid of the Children’s Tadworth Trust
  • Another of our Principal Toxicologists (and budding artist), Phil Copestake, has been known to use his penchant for art to help others, and submitted postcards for auction at the Southfields gallery, in aid of the Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts as well as drawing an array of animals for a colouring in book in order to raise money for Dignify (helping homeless people in our local area)
  • Our Commercial Manager, Ashleigh Ace, is a proud Ambassador for Shooting Star Chase (attending events and giving speeches to raise awareness) and volunteers her time in the hospices on evenings and weekends
